Webinar to kick start collaboration and informal learning in your organization

Learn how to take advantage of social network collaboration

Odds are more than four out of five that an employee excels at her job as a result of conversations in the coffee room, not workshops in the classroom. Yet most organizations neglect tending the grapevine and blow their budgets on the workshops.

Business people get better at work from watching how other people do their jobs, experimenting with new things, and the “school of hard knocks.”

Attuning an organization to these natural flows and the wisdom of its people involves simple yet fundamental changes, like taking time for reflection or facilitating collaboration. Wise companies foster communities of practice, provide self-service learning, fine-tune social network connections, and make it easy to tap expertise. Their people embrace internet values such as transparency, authenticity, and immediacy. Advance preparation enables them to turn on a dime and come up with innovative solutions to new challenges.

Easier said than done. Transforming a company to thrive in the network era is a rough journey. Yet some are doing just that. I can tell you how.

Webinar, examples, and practice pave the way

I literally wrote the book on informal, networked learning, but reading a book is not going to change corporate culture. That takes fresh viewpoints and compelling examples. It often takes confrontation by an outside catalyst who is unafraid to challenge conventional wisdom.

That’s what I do. I open organizations’ eyes to the possibilities. Through stories and case examples, I will demonstrate ways your people can do more with less. I can get you off on the right foot.

In a typical engagement, I explore your readiness and take a brief email survey. Sometimes there’s a pre-reading assignment. This is followed by a 60- or 90-minute interactive webinar. I often challenge participants to come up with an informal learning solution to a pressing business problem and present it in an “elevator pitch.” Perhaps we involve other members of Internet Time Alliance.

All it takes

Depending on customization, your readiness, and how much time I invest, a front-end engagement like this typically costs $950 to $3,950.

We can start today and deliver within a week. Get in touch to explore what I can do for you.
