Without Flash it will never be as good as a laptop/netbook.

The excitement is already waning, there are more detractors than enthusiasts at the moment. We’ll have to see what the world thinks when we can actually get our little mitts on it.

Hi Jay!
Great pics! The iPhone has been out for 3 yrs and the excitement is still there. I still witness iPhone n00bs getting such a thrill out of the device.
Personally, I’m still very excited about my iPhone. It’s simply a beautiful amazing device. From all I’ve heard from those who have touched an iPad, the feeling will be very much the same. Perhaps iLearning on the iPad will fade in 6months but I think the iPad will continue to evolve into as the must have device of the decade.
Cheers!
Brent

Hi,

I doubt very much e-learning will become sexy(ier) because of the iPad. Some people may consider the iPad sexy and may therefore purposely look for ways to use it, including for e-learning. That attraction alone, however, won’t impact the status of e-learning much. I do agree that whatever degree of sexiness is conferred on e-learning because of the iPad likely won’t last long. In any case, we’re putting the cart before the horse again: we need to first figure out what the problem is before trying to understand how new technology may help solve it.

Isn’t all technology a “tool” to help educators successfully accomplish a teaching/learning task? If that is the case then it will most certainly be interesting to see how t he IPad will be used as an educational tool.

David, no, not all technology is a tool to help educators teach. A more important use IMHO is empowering people to learn for themselves.
