Connectivity woes

by Jay Cross on December 13, 2008

I’m in Aachen, about 300 miles from CERN, where Tim Berner-Lee invented the Web. You’d think these folks would have figured out wi-fi. Here at the Novotel, my “business package” goes off the air every twenty or thirty minutes. The last few days at Hotel Kasteel Bilderberg in the suburbs just across the border, my very pricey wi-fi flaked out at least once an hour.

My train here from Brussels had wi-fi about half the time. It was confusing to confront these two images simultaneously.

You don’t get wi-fi on the Eurostar from London, even in First Class.

Is this just me or if wi-fi not mature in this part of Europe?
