In mid-August, I spent a couple of days with Intel in Portland attending meetings of managers of learning and development in my self-appointed role as the Johnny Appleseed of informal learning. Intel is at the same crossroads as many fast-moving firms. It knows there’s magic in interactive social media and treating learning holistically, but the day-to-day crowds out putting many resources behind this longer-term perspective.
Here’s my take on the situation, a combination of what I heard in Portland and my take on creating a functional learning ecosystem.
