Efficacy - the feeling of control - is a requirement of taking action generally. Beyond the emotional, health, and capabilities issues, I'm looking for some way to restore the balance of short-term demands and longer-term reflection. I completely agree that these emotions, perceptions, and motivations affect employee productivity as well as health. The University of Minnesota is currently studying the affect of work/life balance programs that aim to improve the level of control so that people FEEL like they can manage work and life commitments. One work/life balance program being measured is the Results-Only Work Environment (ROWE) created by CultureRx. What do you think of this concept? Jay,
