When you see this symbol on someone’s site, that means they are a member of the InformL community. Another sixteen people completed the eight Unworkshop sessions this week. We don’t kick people out the door when their sessions end; we invite they to network with fellow alumni and use the community wiki for the next year. The events cease but the learning continues.
While the time zones were a problem, the June participants enjoyed the diversity of our group. People joined in from Italy, the Canary Islands, Denmark, Austria, Kuwait, Zambia, Australia, Canada, and the US. One of our objectives is to use lightweight, free technology that anyone can use to prototype their own applications, and I’m proud to say that our recent sessions were glitch-free. We’ve been using Skypecast, Vyew, IRC, WordPress, Delicious, PB Wiki, Skype, and a few others.
We plan to start the next round of Unworkshops several weeks hence. The summer sessions will follow a more leisurely pace: one meeting a week spread over two months. Check the FAQ (which will soon be updated) and email me if you want to be informed of our progress.
